Simon & Sandra | Waimate North Kerikeri

Sometimes, despite the best laid plans, you just can’t beat Mother Nature, even at the height of summer in the winterless north,  up around Kerikeri, sometimes she just likes to rain and rain and rain……  SO while plans were made, and changed, and changed again, and then once more just for good measure – the one thing that shone through at Simon’s & Sandra’s wedding at their property in Waimate North which is near Kerikeri, was how family and friends  did all they could, chipped in and gave it the good old kiwi ( and danish ) she’ll be right….. marquees were found, gumboots and raincoats were the wedding attire of choice, and umbrellas were raised…. and still there was laughter and love all around.

The rain stopped for a brief time, just in time to grant Sandra’s biggest wish of getting married outside,  down by their little lake  and the chance to take some photos without getting to wet, but with dramatic misty backdrops and a smattering of rain and into the night the party went on.

With Sandra and Simon being based in the UK, a lot of the on the day organising was by the amazing Mel from I’m a little teapot
